Long Time, No See

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here!

Let’s see… It’s summer vacation, and I’ve been doing absolutely nothing. It’s great! :) School will start back up in late, late August for staff, and I have yet to hear about what school I’ll be at. Hopefully I won’t be moved to another grade or another school.

In June, Hubby and I took an Alaskan cruise. It was absolutely wonderful. We took two weeks, and traveled from Anchorage to Fairbanks and back south, and then the cruise from Whittier to Vancouver. If you’ve never taken a cruise, you should find the time. It’s totally worth it!

Life has been really quiet for us. No little ones running around yet; we’re planning to try in October of this year, or next year.

Ping me back and tell me how your life is going!

Genealogy

I’ve begun creating a genealogy website for my family. The link can be found in the sidebar.

SCA

Look, ma! An update! ;)

My husband, a friend, and I went to our first SCA event this past weekend; the Baronial Birthday & Investiture for the Barony of Tir-y-don, in the Kingdom of Atlantia. AKA the local chapter. >.< Much fun was had by all of us. Husband came home with a sunburn, but he had fun watching the rapier competition, damnit!

I hope to update this weblog more often. There are so many people who used to read my wee little journal that I haven’t spoken with in a while. I’m being bombarded by spam comments, so I’m going to set up the journal so that you have to register an account in order to be able to comment. That’ll come later tonight. :)

Wishlists

People are always asking what Michael and I want for Christmas, or our birthdays… So I’ve separated and organized our amazon.com wishlists so our family will have an easier time shopping for us. The “wishlist” page has been updated to include my teacher resource wishlist and my “miscellanious” wishlist, along with our travel wishlist and our target.com wishlist.

Listen to the Mustn’ts

Someone posted this on LJ today and it reminded me of just how much I loved Shel Silverstein and his books of poems. All children should be taught to know and love his poems. I see a lot of children now in my profession, and it’s really a shame that some of these kids may never even learn to read. :(

Listen to the Mustn’ts

Listen to the MUSTN’TS, child,
Listen to the DON’TS
Listen to the SHOULDN’TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WON’TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES.
Then listen close to me -
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be.

-Shel Silverstein

This is my website. It’s not much right now, I know, but I’ve had the domain name since 1998, and it has existed in many forms.
